Christmas Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for reminding me that Christmas is not only about celebrating the birth of Your son, Jesus Christ. It is not merely a time to remeber the advent or first coming of the Christ. Holy Spirit, thank You for guiding me deeper to what the birth of Jesus should point my heart to at this time.

Thank You, Holy Spirit, for reminding me that Christmas points us to the nature of our Father and Creator – one who keeps His promises. Holy Spirit, thank You for helping me to shift my focus from all that I am not seeing coming to pass in my life and gazing on the truth that the Lord God is a Promise Keeper: He keeps His promises to a thousand generations.

Thank You for encouraging my heart with the truth that the Lord God is faithful and keeps His word. Time does not determine the potency of His word. Time cannot change or alter what He has already spoken. He holds time in His hands.

Help me, Holy Spirit, at this season to be strengthened in my faith that what You have spoken will come to pass. Help me to hold on to every promise You have given to the church, to my family and to me. Help me to keep on trusting in, clinging to, and relying on Your words until their fulness of time comes.

In the interim, may I run to You every time I fall in my faith and allow You to cleanse and sustain me. May I not cast away my confidence in You but, may I be patient, having the persuasion that after I have done Your will, I WILL receive the promise.

I love You Father and continue to crave Your Presence, O Holy Spirit. Please stay with me always. Amen!
