All For His Glory!

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea. For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in. And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.   (Exodus 14: 1-4, KJV)

My time with the Lord this morning took me to Exodus 14. One thing that was impressed upon me was how God uses our lives to bring him glory. He uses our lives so that the unbeliever/unsaved would know that He is the Lord.

He navigates our path, our way, so that we can arrive in places that may seem as a wilderness. To our eyes and also the eyes of others, we seem “entangled in the land”. It seems as if we are trapped and “the wilderness has shut us in.” But this passage shows that, when a child of God appears besieged, surrounded and locked in, know that the Lord allowed it. It is a set up. God is about to show the world that He is Lord.

And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord. And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.             – (Exodus 14: 10-14, KJV)

In these times, our first impulse is fear which influences our speech. If we are not careful, we will begin to speak against what God is doing. God wants us to stand still and see His salvation. Know that He shall fight for us. Hold our peace ……BE SILENT and prepare to move forward. Listen for His instructions and obey. (verses 14 – 18) Count it an honor to be used so that God can receive glory!

Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.(Exodus 15:1)
